Genealogies, photocopies of handwritten diaries and articles, family histories, and maps bound in one volume. The materials relate to the Christiansen family members who joined the Mormon Church in Denmark and migrated to Utah. The diaries are by Parley Christiansen (1857-1930), Niels Christian Christiansen (1817-1899), and Christian Christensen (1790-1871) and relate to their conversion to Mormonism, their journey to Utah, and their lives there.

John Rees Christiansen was born in Wales, Utah, to Elray Lavar and Lewella Ann Rees Christiansen on 7 August 1927. He served as an Aviation Cadet in the U.S. Navy from 1945-47, then went on to earn degrees from Utah State University (B.A. 1949, M.A. 1952) and the University of Wisconsin (Ph. Parley Christiansen (1857-1930) was Mormon police officer, legislator, and Church officer from Ephraim, Utah. He served a mission to the Northwestern States between 1887 and 1888, and also served as a Seventy and a bishop. In 1895 he served as a member of the state constitutional convention.
